John H. Bee

John H. Bee is a partner at Gargiulo/Rudnick LLP based in the firm’s Boston office. Since joining the firm in 1997, Mr. Bee has concentrated his practice on insurance defense, business litigation, white collar defense, healthcare compliance and litigation and employment matters.

Mr. Bee has tried numerous civil and criminal cases both in state and federal court. In his insurance defense practice in particular, he has tried cases involving individuals with motor vehicle tort claims and companies with issues involving general premises liability and unfair and deceptive trade practices. He also has substantial experience in alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration.

In his healthcare practice Mr. Bee has represented major pharmaceutical manufacturers, physicians, group practices, clinical laboratories, dentists, podiatrists, nurses, psychologists, and veterinarians in matters involving complex civil and criminal defense, fraud and abuse investigations in both state and federal court, licensure, certification, billing, and overpayment matters, and disciplinary proceedings. He co-authored a chapter in the 2011 edition of MCLE’s Massachusetts Health and Hospital Law Manual entitled Federal and State Enforcement.

Additionally, Mr. Bee has provided comprehensive defense and compliance services before several state administrative agencies including the Board of Bar Overseers, the State Ethics Commission and the Board of Professional Licensure.

In 1993, Mr. Bee was appointed an Assistant District Attorney for Middlesex County. In that role, he tried in excess of fifty jury cases, including homicide, firearm offense, drug offense, and domestic violence matters. He also briefed and argued appeals before the Massachusetts Court of Appeals. Mr. Bee was later appointed Supervisor of the Malden District Court, where he managed eight junior Assistant District Attorneys and a support staff, and served as liaison between the District Attorney’s Office, community police departments, and school administrators. During his tenure in Malden, Mr. Bee chaired the Community Based Justice Program in Everett, Massachusetts, a community-based proactive juvenile intervention program.
