Chelsea Clark

Chelsea Clark is a civil litigator with years of experience in representing parties at both the trial and appellate level. Ms. Clark joined Gargiulo/Rudnick after moving to Massachusetts from South Carolina, where she was selected as a Rising Star for Super Lawyers 2024 and 2025 in the area of professional malpractice defense. Ms. Clark is excited to join the talented team of attorneys at Gargiulo/Rudnick as she grows her practice in Massachusetts. From 2018 to 2025, Ms. Clark practiced with a boutique civil litigation firm in South Carolina and gained experience in the practice areas of construction law, premises liability, personal injury law, healthcare law, commercial debt collection, real property law, and administrative law, among others. She developed a practice centered on defending other professionals accused of malpractice and is proud to be a “lawyer’s lawyer.” Her background includes representing numerous independent insurance agents in relation to errors and omissions claims, which gives her a unique perspective on matters relating to coverage.

Over the years, Ms. Clark has handled multiple complex, multiparty cases in both state and federal courts, as well as in mediation or arbitration. She strives to find solutions that work for her clients, while also strongly advancing their position. A passionate legal writer, Ms. Clark enjoys briefing complex motions and appeals. She endeavors to be an effective and fierce advocate on paper, as well as in the courtroom.

Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Clark served as staff counsel for the South Carolina Administrative Law Court, which ensures that citizens get due process where state actions are taken. In this role, she researched and drafted orders for constitutional, environmental, and tax cases, among others. Ms. Clark served on the Administrative and Regulatory Law Committee of the South Carolina Bar for several years, culminating her tenure on the Committee as Chair for the 2024–25 term. During law school, Ms. Clark received media coverage for her work with a non-profit to bring information to the public and stakeholders about South Carolina’s expungement process and information related to reform.

Ms. Clark earned her J.D. in 2015 from the University of South Carolina School of Law, cum laude and joined the South Carolina Bar in November 2015. While in law school, Ms. Clark served as article editor for both the Journal of Law and Education and the 2014 Annual Review of the Institute for Inclusion in the Legal Profession. She earned her B.A. in Russian from the University of South Carolina in 2012, magna cum laude. During her undergraduate studies, Ms. Clark was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She also had the privilege of attending the Davis School of Russian at Middlebury College in the summer of 2011, sparking her love of New England. Prior to attending college, Ms. Clark earned a Cordon Bleu Diploma at the Tante Marie School of Cookery in Woking, Surrey, UK. She still enjoys cooking for family and friends.

Ms. Clark is a member of the bar in the State of South Carolina and her application for admission to the Massachusetts bar is pending. She is also admitted to the District of South Carolina, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
