Marielise Kelly has been in litigation practice with Gargiulo / Rudnick, LLP since 1991 and became a partner of the firm in January, 1997. Her practice focuses on complex civil litigation, as well as white collar criminal defense, in state and federal courts.

On the civil side, Ms. Kelly’s practice concentrates in areas of law including defending and prosecuting claims of negligence and related issues of insurance coverage, as well as business practices under M.G.L. c. 93A and M.G.L.c. 176D. Ms. Kelly also has extensive experience in litigation of complex business and commercial disputes. Additionally, Ms. Kelly has expertise in the regulation of business practices of automobile manufacturers and dealers under M.G.L. c. 93B and has engaged in multi-district class action litigation on behalf of a major automobile manufacturer.

Ms. Kelly's criminal practice includes representing corporations and individuals in a wide variety of criminal matters, including investigations by federal, state and local law enforcement into a wide spectrum of issues such as tax, insurance and healthcare fraud.

Ms. Kelly has tried and co-tried numerous cases and has been responsible for all phases of trial and pre-trial case preparation, as well as appellate representation of clients. Additionally, Ms. Kelly has substantial experience in arbitration, mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Ms. Kelly has also been awarded Martindale-Hubble's highest rating for legal ability and professional ethics. She was recognized by Boston Magazine and Law and Politics as a "Super Lawyer" in the area of general litigation. Ms. Kelly's professional distinctions include co-trying a plaintiff's case, which resulted in in the highest personal injury jury verdict ever awarded in Barnstable County, Massachusetts.

Ms. Kelly is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the State of New York and the State of New Hampshire. She has appeared and argued before the Supreme Judicial Court for Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Appeal Court, the Massachusetts Superior and District Courts, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire. Ms. Kelly has participated in various volunteer activities including mentoring a student in connection with a partnership between the Boston Bar Association and Citizen Schools’ Eighth Grade Academy Program. Ms. Kelly currently serves as a member of the Human Rights Committee for the May Institute.
